Contra – Original Video Game Soundtrack LP

The album artwork on this LP is fantastic, and the pressing is dead quiet between tracks. My turntable really brings out those deep bass lines from the NES soundtrack.

Those synth bass notes hit so clean on this pressing—the first track alone is worth the purchase. The gatefold jacket is a nice touch, and the vinyl itself was flat and quiet out of the sleeve.

The gatefold art alone is worth the price, but the vinyl pressing itself is dead quiet and lets those chiptune melodies really punch through. Side A with the NES tracks brings back serious couch-co-op memories, and the soundstage is surprisingly deep for a retro soundtrack.
