Compare the Mondo-exclusive Rick and Morty polystone statue with the Ramona Flowers Nega Variant vinyl figure. We break down materials, edition sizes, and display impact so you can choose the right centerpiece.
Quick Answer
Choose the Rick and Morty polystone statue if you want a heavyweight, display-focused centerpiece with a playful Squanchy swap-out. Pick the Ramona Flowers Nega Variant if you prefer a limited glow-in-the-dark vinyl figure with interactive features at a lower price.
Material and Build: Polystone vs. Vinyl
The Rick and Morty statue is Mondo's first official polystone statue for the series. Polystone is a dense, resin-like material that gives the piece a premium, museum-quality weight and durability. It's designed to stay on a shelf or display case, not to be handled frequently.
The Ramona Flowers Nega Variant is a Super Vinyl Figure, which means it's lighter, more durable, and built for interaction. The vinyl construction allows for fist-launching action and functional skate wheels, making it a more playful addition to your collection.
Edition Size and Exclusivity
The Ramona Flowers Nega Variant is limited to an edition of 200, making it a rare find for collectors who value scarcity. It also glows in the dark, adding a unique visual effect that standard figures don't offer.
The Rick and Morty statue is a Mondo Exclusive, which means it's only available through Mondo. While the exact edition size isn't specified, its exclusive status and the fact it's the first official polystone statue for the series make it a significant piece for dedicated fans.
Price and Value Considerations
The Ramona Flowers Nega Variant is priced at USD 136.80 (compared to USD 190.00), while the Rick and Morty statue is USD 183.60 (compared to USD 270.00). Both offer savings off their comparison prices, but the Ramona figure is more budget-friendly.
Keep in mind that the Ramona Flowers figure is subject to a Tariff Surcharge for U.S. customers, which could affect the final cost. Factor that into your decision if you're ordering from the U.S.
The Trade-Offs
- Material vs. Interactivity: Choose the Rick and Morty statue for its premium polystone build and static display presence. Choose the Ramona figure for its vinyl durability and interactive features like fist-launching and skate wheels. Decide if you value a museum-quality centerpiece or a hands-on collectible.
- Rarity vs. Exclusivity: The Ramona Nega Variant is limited to 200 pieces, making it numerically rarer. The Rick and Morty statue is a Mondo Exclusive, which means it's only sold through Mondo, adding a different kind of collectible appeal. Consider whether you prefer a low edition number or a store-exclusive piece.
- Price vs. Extra Costs: The Ramona figure is cheaper upfront, but U.S. customers face a Tariff Surcharge. The Rick and Morty statue has a higher list price but no such surcharge is mentioned. Calculate the final landed cost before committing.
