Enjoy The Ride Records in conjunction with Paramount Pictures proudly presents Music From The Motion Picture Beverly Hills Cop. Composed by Grammy Award winner Harold Faltermeyer (Top Gun, Fletch, Midnight Express), the 80's synth-pop sound is nostalgic and iconic.

Details

The protege of musical mastermind Giorgio Moroder got to show the world what he could do with this infectious composition and fan favorite, "Axel F," which is strewn throughout various tracks of the score. Fun fact: Faltermeyer refers to Axel F as the "banana theme," as it was originally written for the scene where Axel Foley gives a pair of Beverly Hills police officers the slip by shoving bananas up their exhaust pipe, causing their car to stall when they try to tail him.

Music From The Motion Picture Beverly Hills Cop is housed in an O-Card sleeve with VHS-inspired art in a Norelco plastic case.

Harper Q. ★★★★★

Putting this in and hearing that synth intro hit the same goosebumps I got as a kid in 1985. The tape quality is clean, no hiss, and the Harold Faltermeyer score sounds surprisingly full on my old deck. Worth it for the nostalgia alone.

Emma ★★★★★

The cassette itself feels solid and well-made, and the soundtrack flows great from start to finish. Harold Faltermeyer’s synth work on tracks like the main theme still gives me chills every time I play it.

Steven C. ★★★★★

The "Axel F" theme hits so perfectly on tape, with that warm analog hiss that just makes the synth line feel more alive. Harold Faltermeyer’s score is a full nostalgia trip, and the packaging even includes the original Paramount artwork, which is a nice touch. I’ve already played it three times sinc
