Picking up the reigns of the franchise he created, in Prometheus Scott tells a genesis tale, setting the stage for events to come in the Alien franchise - exploring the origins of the Space Jockey, and the Xenomorph - while simultaneously telling a fractured tale of the perils of meeting ones creator.

This limited edition 2XLP set is pressed on heavy weight vinyl, cut at 45RPM and features exclusive liner notes by composer Marc Streitenfeld.

Finally, a proper vinyl release for this score — the gatefold jacket has some stunning artwork that makes the whole package feel deliberate. The 180g pressing sits flat and quiet, letting every terrifying horn swell breathe clearly.

This pressing sounds incredible — the low-end rumble in "Life" vibrates right through the room, and the vinyl itself is dead quiet between tracks. As a first-time release of the score on wax, it's exactly what I hoped for.

The packaging is gorgeous and the gatefold feels sturdy, which matters for a double LP. I just wish the inner sleeves were a bit thicker since they’re prone to static, but the music itself is beautifully mastered across both records.
