SOMAFREE INSTITUTE'S excellent EP Seek Sound Shelter lays down chromed out cosmic jams steeped in Zombi space prog and Klaus Schulze expanse in fine form. From the kinetic "Attribution Error" to the slow tension of "Seek Sound Shelter" and the space rock strut of "Beta Testing Program", this Seattle space rock trio makes music to cruise the cosmos to. Buzzing analog electronics create a synthetic sheen of retro-futuristic vibes, with just the right amount of prog rock majesty.

The B-side's ambient drift is perfect for late-night listening, the vinyl pressing is dead quiet. I've been playing "Attribution Error" on repeat for days.

Amelia ★★★★★ Oct 18, 2026

The opening track hits like a classic sci-fi chase scene, and the vinyl pressing captures every layer of the space prog really cleanly. I've been spinning "Attribution Error" on repeat since it arrived.

Victoria ★★★★☆ Oct 20, 2026

The pressing is clean and quiet, letting the synth textures on "Attribution Error" really breathe without surface noise. I wish the sleeve had a bit more info inside, but the Zombi-style cosmic prog on side A is exactly what I was after.
