Those who heard Retro Inferno, Dave Neabore's debut full-length of film-inspired, utterly dance-able synth, know that the Dog Eat Dog musician understands what makes a good genre piece. On his latest EP, Star Feels, Neabore pairs the sounds of '80s intergalactic science fiction with the era's infectious synth pop to craft a modern update of the sounds which once packed Italian dancefloors.

Lily ★★★★★

Finally got my copy of this LP, and the synth work on "Retro Inferno" is just as infectious as I'd hoped—perfectly capturing that film score energy. The vinyl itself plays clean with no surface noise, which makes the danceable beats sound even better. Been spinning it nonstop since it arrived.

Zoe ★★★★☆

The pressing is surprisingly quiet, which lets the synths really breathe on tracks like the closer. I just wish the jacket had a printed inner sleeve instead of plain white.

Ellie ★★★★☆

I had this on repeat all weekend—the tracks have a nice, driving energy that works for both dancing and background listening. The vinyl itself came well-packaged and plays with hardly any surface noise. Minor complaint: the sleeve artwork could’ve been more striking for such a strong album.
