“LA CHIESA” (THE CHURCH) was directed in 1989 by Michele Soavi (DELLAMORTE DELLAMORE) and produced by the master of Italian horror himself, Dario Argento, who also participated in the writing of the story and screenplay. The soundtrack is composed by Keith Emerson and Goblin. Classical, prog rock, and electronic sounds are skillfully blended here to create a late entry Italian masterpiece. Emerson, in particular, makes extensive use of a church organ, mindful of his work for Dario Argento’s film INFERNO a few years earlier (1980), while Goblin continue the bombastic electro-prog rock sound they fine tuned the previous 20 years.

Avery O. ★★★★★

I was a bit worried about the sound quality on a modern pressing of an older score, but the vinyl is dead quiet and the bass on Goblin’s tracks hits perfectly. This is exactly the eerie, synth-heavy atmosphere I wanted for my collection.

David ★★★★★

The gatefold sleeve is sturdy and beautifully designed, capturing that eerie 1989 Italian horror vibe perfectly. The audio quality on this pressing is crisp and immersive, bringing Soavi’s and Argento’s haunting score to life.

Ryan V. ★★★★★

The vinyl arrived perfectly flat and quiet, no warps or pops, which is rare for a 35-year-old soundtrack. That haunting synth score from the first track really shines through the analog warmth. I've been waiting for this Soavi soundtrack to get a proper pressing.
